The Privacy ROM, Graphene OS

A privacy-first OS-ROM Graphene OS

For anyone who’s looking for privacy and looking to escape from the Google machine,

Why Graphene OS over Google’s Android OS, it’s important now to look into Google Alternatives, Here’s an alternative to consider over Android OS

Graphene OS is a different Operation from Google’s Android OS.  Why?

  1. This is an operating system that focuses on privacy first.
  2. If you looking for any reason not to have Google keep following you every step.  This OS will be it!

While I use Android all the time daily ~ to look at things on the surface, I agree it’s too invasive to keep using an operation system that continues to use geo-location, data tracking, and ad-tracking everytime you watch a YouTube video, Google understands.  One day I will make the switch to Graphene OS.  Now since my phone is still under contract with T-Mobile.  I will not be able to install Graphene OS.  If you are looking to unlock developer options.  you do have to pay off the contract first before you can say Google Phone.  Since I am paying off my phone little by little which will take me a while ~ ( I can’t wait when I do not have to pay off the lease).

How do I install Graphene ROM on my phone?

To install Graphene OS, there are two ways to install the OS-ROM.

If you get stuck with the installation process, you can get through the chat channel linked on this blog…

Still confused? no worries! You can go through this video tutorial By Naomi Brockwell and you can follow this step-by-step video which I totally recommend if you do get lost.

When that time comes, Graphene is one privacy OS I’ll give this a try. Naomi does a great job explaining how to install this ROM.

The Con of Graphene

When it comes to installing Graphene OS, it all comes down to the hardware ~

  • Google Pixel Phone is required, but it does not support other hardware manufacturers such as LG, Motorola, Samsung, etc.
  • If your Pixel phone is locked by your carrier via a contract it means you can’t go through the OEM unlocking through Android’s settings; it will be greyed out.
