Yesterday, State Governor Brian Kemp announced that Georgia will be in full lockdown effective Friday April 3 at 6pm.
Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis has finally announced a lockdown for the state with over 7,000 COVID-19 cases now reported around central and south Florida
With most people now staying at home feeling isolated and confined, many are asking themselves “What should I do”? I know everyone is definitively trying to work out a solution to keep it together during these tough times. Since I’ve always been a stay-at-home person working remotely for Internet Companies, it doesn’t worry me a lot. It’s one way I can keep a calm with some perspective and steer through this.
There’s always a way to get through stressful moments in time. Many people I know are getting through their day staying motivated to move around, being creative and striving to be productive while cooped up indoors. I can understand and relate to what everyone is going through. No one likes staying inside all day. Here are some ideas on what to do if you are sitting at home struggling with thoughts of what to do to fill the time with positive activities and support yourself and your kids throughout the void.
One idea is to use this time to learn and digest something new that you weren’t able to learn from your previous job. In this time of crisis, you can update your resume. Start learning a new language. Tap into endless tutorials across the internet about learning a new skill. Or, on a personal level, how about becoming more aware of the many ways to improve your health? Before this, the job that limited you to sitting in the office all day took priority over more healthy habits. Now is the time to take a new approach. Now you have the time to focus on improving you!
The internet can be our best friend in these times. Not surprisingly, home broadband usage is on the uptick. A news article from the Denver Post cites that Comcast is now experiencing heavier traffic:
“Colorado’s largest internet provider, Comcast, says traffic on its network has gotten much heavier as more people stay at home. It isn’t to the point that speeds are slowing or significant bottlenecks are developing” https://www.denverpost.com/2020/03/31/coronavirus-colorado-comcast-traffic-heavy-no-slowing/

It’s the magical internet age. Or the digital age. Or whatever you want to call it! I find the internet, at this point in time, under these extreme worldly events, to be an enormous blessing in disguise. These days, most all of us have this amazing technology at our fingertips. Access to vast amounts of knowledge, entertainment and self-help tools is a mouse clic away in the comfort of our homes.
Many will not use this time to explore the gift of easy access to knowledge. But the wise among us will instead use the time productively. They will make the most of this time at home to learn, grow, explore and improve their talents. While many of the masses continue to act out their old ways and repeat their habits from pre-COVID-19 days, others will seize the opportunity to make this down time a period of personal growth and enlightenment.
Now is a great time to reflect, grow and ride the wave of self-improvement.
