Why I Shop Online 2024 Edition
Welcome to the 2024 “Why I Shop Online” Edition!
I can’t begin to tell you as someone who works retail during this time of year; I’ve worked in retail over the past 10 years I know how things go from the front and back of a retail store. Things can be very, very frustrating when it comes to shopping in person. Lately, it’s been a problem! Every time I try to find something I want to get then that’s when shopping does not become fun anymore. Preferably that’s Why I shop for what I want online not having to worry about it twice, which makes my life much much easier when shopping online, which makes a stress-free experience.
For starters,
- The shift in attitude
When it comes to the time of year, besides buying a new car or getting a blouse for loved ones, I notice that people’s attitudes tend to be aggressive and lack patience when it comes to holiday spending trying to find something that’s on the shelf, this year won’t be any different from previous years as there’s gonna be more shoving and pushing next to each other. - Better deals online
If you are shopping one of the things to consider is that during this time of year, you’ll see a lot of people shopping over to places like Amazon, Best Buy, Overstock, etc. I wrote something similar two years ago in a blog post. {Which reminds me, I’ll have to come up with a new post for this year}. I would watch out for Black Friday & Cyber Monday which has one of the best deals then some of the pre-fall deals. - Online shopping has become much easier
The reason I enjoy online shopping is because of how convenient and easy things have become over the years. Sometimes you’ll get better offers than going offline to the real world.
While both have their advantages and disadvantages I do think it is online is the way to go with it comes to the Holiday Shopping Season around the corner I do not mind having to pay a little extra to stay away from all the chaos. I’ve already gone through enough chaos in person as it is already.
In the American culture always we’ve been very much a consumerist society, a staple of American capitalism for over the past 50 years once people save things they end up buying things they do not need towards the neck close to the Holiday Season.
View Point
Sometimes I go shopping in person once in a while. but now when you have very anxious people trying to make their way around from store to store. The example I had the other morning is when I was entering work one morning on a bicycle, I had a woman in a red scrub outfit (I’m not joking) trying to enter a Marshall’s store around 7am. She ran inside the store thinking I was gonna hurt her which the idea is insane, another thing that crossed my mind was who on earth is gonna shop this early in the morning!!!…. I never understood that, when my manager came to open the door for me, she told her that the store was not open at that hour.
Now I think about it, people have become so conditioned that shopping is their world, most people can’t be cooped up inside their houses way too long… When it comes down to retail shopping, it always has been a crazy world, especially in American culture, what I do not miss at all is going out on holiday which is always been the most stressful time of year. Holidays should be about getting together with family and friends not about consuming.
That’s why I’m all for having my packages come right to the door.
